Tucked away in the welcoming enclave of Palo Cedro lies a hidden gem, an establishment that effortlessly marries the charm of its rustic environs with an unexpectedly vibrant menu: the one and only Palo Cedro Inn. With its vintage signage and cottage-like architecture, this spot could easily be missed by those not in the know, yet stepping inside is akin to walking into a postcard of hospitality and warmth. Located at 9191 Deschutes Rd, this eatery stands as a beloved part of the community, often abuzz with satisfied patrons exchanging tales of the day's adventures or discussing the latest local happenings.
The allure doesn't stop at the doorstep; rather, it's only a precursor to the culinary delights that await. The menu exudes a kind of comfort-food finesse that appeals to anyone craving both familiarity and a touch of the unexpected. Imagine a classic burger, juicy and cooked to perfection, but elevated with house-made sauces and artisan buns. Or consider the Pan-Seared Salmon, a hallmark dish that draws diners from both near and far, thanks to its flaky, melt-in-the-mouth goodness. Vegetarians and meat-lovers alike find common ground in offerings like the Stuffed Bell Peppers, generously packed with an aromatic mix of quinoa, black beans, and roasted vegetables—a dish that feels both health-conscious and indulgent.
Local reviews have been nothing short of glowing, often highlighting not just the flavors but also the impeccable service. It’s clear that the staff here have mastered the art of creating an atmosphere where everyone feels like family. The kind of spot where one's glass is never empty for long, and second helpings are encouraged with a knowing smile. Such hospitality is mirrored in the casual yet carefully curated decor. Cozy booth seating, vintage memorabilia adorning the walls, and—when the weather permits—a delightful patio space that invites diners to soak in the California sun.
It’s easy to see why word-of-mouth praise brings diners back time and again. Whether it’s a casual weekday dinner or part of a weekend countryside ramble, Palo Cedro Inn ensures every meal is an experience to remember. Amid a landscape rich with natural beauty, it stands as a delicious reminder that sometimes the journey and the destination are equally satisfying.

Casual vibe. Rustic. Cook your own steak. Fun experience for sure. Great service. Oh and for some good quality steaks.. I feel I would've paid double somewhere else.

One of my husband’s and my favorite places to eat. The staff is fantastic, excellent steak and French fries. The grilling of you own steak is a fun experience (especially not having to clean up and wash dishes after). Can get really busy on the weekends, so a wait is to be expected to grill. But it’s all apart of the experience and we love it.

We absolutely loved the "cook your own meat" aspect of this dining experience. Cooking your own dinner is not why you usually go out to dinner. You go out to have somebody else dote over you so you can relax and enjoy a meal and conversation. In this case the idea of cooking your own food and the end result became a big part of your conversations. We had a great time, and would be happy to go anytime we're in the area.

This was the coolest place ever. I’ve never been to a restaurant where you grill your own meat. It was awesome. My friend’s husband handled the cooking. My T-bone was delicious. Great quality steak. Whenever I come back to visit I’ll be stopping by Palo Cedro Inn.

We love this place! It’s almost a weekly stop for my wife and I. It’s quality meat, and by the time you’d buy the steak, salad, potatoes, and bread at a grocery store - you can eat at PCI for the same price! The benefit? You don’t have to spend an hour cleaning your kitchen! Yeah, you cook your steak yourself but the atmosphere is awesome, the staff is hands down the VERY BEST in the area - every one of the ladies that make this place run are there because they want to be and it shows.

The night we were there, the restaurant was packed, we had reservations though, probably a good idea. We sat on the back patio, we had a great time and the food was perfect.

A bright shining beacon in the unbridled wilderness of Palo Cedro, an atmosphere so welcoming and staff so friendly that it could melt the coldest of hearts in the deepest of winters, prices so fair that even the most miserly of people would smile with delight...oh and the guy who cooked my shrimp was strikingly handsome in a rugged old world kinda way
